FWIW, on my '81, there's an extra grommet at the four 10mm head bolts at rear edge. So L-R: double, single, single, double. I was curious of why these were doubled up at each end. There is also a small rubber pad at two points. I mention this as I suspect my luggage rack is original.

I'm sure the VC stuff is fine too. Had assumed these seals would have the metal clips.
