What was the cause of the no start? I do NOT know if this works for the 1.9 but it may. Mark Drillock posted this fuel injector spray and-or spark test for the 2.1 WBX: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=535140&highlight=distributor Very useful if you're working by yourself or don't have a remote start switch. Basically, you mark rotor and distributor position, loosen and pull distributor out far enough so rotor can be turned by hand. Turn key to ign. on, (do NOT crank engine) turn rotor by hand, check spray pattern or spark. Neil.
