You need to give some thought as to way the ECU failed. While solid state components, (output transistor) sometimes fail for no reason shorted components are often the result of an overload condition. I have seen incorrect replacement injectors installed. The air cooled injectors had much lower coil resistance and a resistor was part of the system. Also high power charger/engine starters can do the ECU in. Not just the voltage but the noise-ripple from these things are bad for many electronics.

The car has started up with a new ECU. Thanks Scott. Zoltan

As long as one of the two relays is supplying power to each injector .. the only thing that opens the injectors is the ecu supplying ground to the other terminal on each injector.

They are batchfired ..that is all at once, in milliseconds, like they are one big 4-part injector. and with 4 wires from ecu to each injector I am pretty sure without looking at Bentley .. if it's doing it to all 4 cylinders.. it sure can't be 4 grounded injector wireson their way from ecu to each injector. therefore ...most likely ecu.
