The hidden roll pin fastened armrest came starting in 1987 models with adjustable armrests. Before that the more easily visible Allen bolt held the arm to the bracket. The bracket had 2 screws holding it to the seat in both types. He said it was an 85, so no roll pin unless later front seats were swapped in.

Bentley page 72.4 shows details of the early type. Page 72.5 shows the later type with roll pin.
