I found it interesting to note that on P. 97.66 of Bentley, the load reduction relay goes by a different name: "Defog cut out relay (x-cntct)". This relay carries + to the higher load devices. But. There's 2 fuses shown downstream of this relay. S13, in part, supplies + to the OEM radio + wire. S10 supplies + to wipers, heat fan motor. So along with Mikes comment, the relay may have failed, and-or the connections involved aren't right or most likely.....

X contacts in ign. switch have failed?

Turning key to X position sends + to X of headlight switch. At that wire junction, (P97.63 track 40) another wire passes + on to the load reduction relay so this relay can carry + to these higher draw devices.

I'm certain all this is covered in the archives but since I was curious and had the Bentley out...... ;^) Ign. switch test swap procedure and replacement procedure are in the archives as well.
