In hindsight, securing my mountain bike to the luggage rack may have stressed certain points of the rack. i.e. the bike pedal pushed against the rack. It certainly didn't help anyway. But I see your point; this top has seen a lot of sun.

Fiberglass repair is setting on the 3 way crack as I write. (amazing what a low wattage shop light can do to keep the work warm. It's kind of cold out). The pop top will have to wait until warmer temps and less rain.

My local paint shop is bringing in this paint (small pdf):

fairly soon. It looks quite "skookum" so should suffice.
