most of us, yes. just a helpful reminder - better safe ... like the D pillar vents while checking traffic in the mirrors. my factory 85 radiator was functioning [mostly] well when I pulled it last year. still have it as a [cheapskate] spare. I enjoy a bizarre knack for getting the last inch out of things but, I was counting on the Van to go over the river[s] and through the woods and up and down mountains in VT with a kayak plus attending summer gear. plus tools. I'm Irish and we actually do not gamble well. mike ________________________________ From: Scott Daniel - Turbovans <scottdaniel@TURBOVANS.COM> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Sunday, March 3, 2013 8:18 PM Subject: Re: coolant overflow tank I thought everyone knew that eyeballing the temp gauge every minute or two while driving a Vanagon is standard operating pprocedure. One better ! I'm not very worried about the clog factor though ... I've seen the small opening inthe bottom of the license plate bottle clog up beforeand that was the only 'real issue' . And ... If the radiator is 15 years old ...it's generally due, in my experience. Scott |
