Good tips people. Much appreciated.

Part of my "method" (madness all this is really), was to tackle this in the colder weather. I had read of folks doing this hotter days. I refuse to do that; doing so would ensure that my potty mouth reach epic levels. ;)

The top may come off. We'll see.

Using a correct (or close) Phillips head is something I learned later in life. Possibly due to getting into Vanagons. An incorrect sized head will smear the x pattern in no time.

The temptation is there to keep using the canvas I have, but better to do now than later, in the "heat of the night".

Neil.

A little electric screwdriver will speed things up on most of the job, but on all 4 corners (the rear 2 being the worst) the way the fabric is cut there is very little room to get a good attack on the screws near the apex of the curves. You will have fabric rubbing on your knuckles, another thing in favour for the stock cotton pop top. Sunbrella is a bit harder on the skin. > > Just wait and see. At least you're not doing it during the heat of the day in summer :)
