Hi Bill.

A mechanic said that my 2.1 coolant manifold was "weeping". Haven't confirmed or seen coolant loss, but this manifold (aka "tower") does eventually fail. VM Autohaus (Burnaby) *may* keep this part in stock. Van-cafe has these in plastic or a universal fit SS part:

There are several plastic versions made for the Vanagon.

Have a close look at the hoses connected to the perimeter metal or plastic coolant manifold in engine bay. If they're braided, consider replacing. This hose possibly a FLAPS type bulk item. If it were me, I'd replace any dubious looking hose.
