I have my normal uninsulated curtains done with magnets around the edges, too. I roll em up and stash em all in a bag under my sink cabinet so they aren't getting torn by me hauling construction materials or loading bicycles in and out, yet when I camp, they stick up to the inside of the windows in just a few minutes. I got some 1/8" thick x 1/4" wide by 1/2" long magnets off the internet and sewed them right into the curtain hems spaced about 8" apart. So I have no wires or curtain tracks inside and these curtains which are muslin, I think, they do keep it quite a bit warmer inside....or cooler... I bought a bunch of those magnets, more than I needed for the curtains, and I have found them very useful around the van and even in the house and shop...They do have a N-S pole, but when laid flat against steel or iron the polarity rarely is an issue...
