Thanks, everyone.
My switch does click as I open the throttle, but perhaps it isn't
*exactly* right...The engine behaves like it is not running at all,
sometimes, when you re-apply the accelerator, until a second or two passes
and by then I've further depressed the pedal and all of a sudden, it jumps
ahead....well....it "jumps" for a Volkswagen Van, anyhow....maybe a slight
lurch forward....as the engine 'catches' after coasting..... So perhaps
my throttle switch is adjusted with a bit too much play between full off
throttle and when it re-opens...I shall move it around till the switch is
tighter....opens sooner?...not saying that just right, am I?
After the helpful explanations, I think that might be my problem...
