Is there a 50W for street automotive use? I know about Valvoline Racing oils, and a VW mechanic in Spokane, Washington once recommended that to me, when I was still trying to puzzle out what to do about the low OP readings I was seeing at high ambient temps, long highway runs. Part of that was not due to actual low pressure, however, but due to the previous owner mismatching a gauge and sending unit. But, with the new gauge and sending unit, I would still see OP in the 10psi range, or even slightly lower, until I got the auxiliary oil cooler and began using 40W in summer. mcneely > > scott > > > > On 3/13/2013 7:37 PM, Rob wrote: > > Medford Oregon > > http://www.weatherbase.com/weather/weather.php3?s=79527&cityname=Medford-Oregon-United-States-of-America > > > > Maybe 10 miles from Scott's shop, probably less. > > > > Run what oil you want and get an oil pressure gauge and an oil temp > > gauge so you can SEE how well the oil is really working for YOU in > > your Vanagon.
