Cool. Sure sounds like an issue with wires or connections at relays. But.....
FWIW, on my Jetta swap, a failed solder joint in a relay and breaking
hard wire in another caused intermittent starts.
Relays were NOT mounted in sockets. Bottom line: vibration-movement
very likely exacerbated things hastening BOTH relays to fail
intermittently.
I really doubt this is the case with your situation but it can happen
under the wrong circumstances.
