This is the set up I have in my '87 Westy. The most amp hours you will ever fit under the drivers seat hole unless someone makes a new deep cycle battery just for this purpose. I got mine from here > <http://www.batteryspec.com/cgi-bin/cart.cgi?action=link&product=217> Best deal I could find at the time some 5 ~ 6 years ago now. They have proven to be very reliable and can be deeply discharged and recharged many time without any detriment to them. Be careful if you search for these batteries elsewhere, a lot of companies claim that their 18ah one are the same as the 22ah ones. Not true. 4 x 22 is better than 4 x 18 no ? Also, below is a link to photos of a typical aux battery install I do using the Sure-Power 1315 battery separator installed in the battery box along with the battery. In this case the battery in a standard Group 41 which in a lot of cases for a lot of folks works just fine just be sure to get one with a good warranty as you WILL be replacing it often. Note that the first photo is of the 4 - TD-22ah batteries installed and the other is of the Group 41 battery installed. When installing the four TD-22s I had to move the Sure-Power up to under the seat on the top of the box as it being in the box prevents the insertion of the four batteries. To get it to fit up on top of the box I had to make a cut into that box edge, no big deal, and this gets it all compact in one spot.
