Then I decided to take a different approach: http://mira.sbw.org/photos/20110808/P1000392/ That's an Interstate SRM-29 under the sink. GoWesty recommended that model and showed me a similar installation they did. I drilled one large hole for the cables through the kitchen cabinet into the box under the driver's seat, which I use as a wiring closet. I drilled four smaller holes into the box to secure the bracket, which I made out of angles and bolts from Home Depot. The strap goes from that bracket to a U bolt through the floor of the van near the sink drain. I cut down the shelf to let the battery sit on the bottom of the sink cabinet: http://mira.sbw.org/photos/20110808/P1000399/ The wiring closet is a bit of a mess, but it's nice to have lots of room for the fuse and ground blocks, ammeter shunt, charger wiring, and so on: |
