I've said it before and I'll say it again... owning a vanagon, especially a westy, is like owning a small boat. Potential for lots of little chores to keep things tip-top (or as David B. would like me to say, Bristol Fashion). Some people like that part of the deal, others are not cut out for it (no value judgement implied there). I often get the feeling (after short conversation) that some folk do not realise that ongoing work is a price of admission to this club. cheers alistair
