Based upon just this one image, I'd say my crimp is a fail:

Even though I soldered the lug on, vibration and time would likely crack the solder. I do see "braze" lugs online though.

Though overkill in terms of gauge, if near the right length, I'll use pre-made battery cables. OTOH, my local marine supply shop has the proper tool and will let me use it.
