Bob is partly correct - the pipes MUST NOT be shortened, as the new Omron airflow sensor will detects improper airflow and shut off with an fault flash code. The pipes can each be extended to 2 meters total length using additional sections of the same type flex pipe. If I remember correctly, Franks's installation still involves the pipes exiting through the floor. There is an optional 'marine' through-wall exhaust fitting that could be adapted, however the pipes would need to coil inside the area and the exhaust be covered by special heat wrap.
