I don't have any advice for you, but had to laugh when I read the post. I've actually inquired as to getting a high top for my 89, but due to my location here in Alaska it's not really practical. I would also have to modify my garage door for the extra height, and well... just didn't think it was worth the hassle. I'm curious as to why you don't like the high top? Seems like people go to great lengths to add extra insulation, install new tents, etc. Having some permanent storage up top I would think would be a great asset, and I think it would be easier to heat as well. I'm guessing it probably insulate you from the outdoors in terms of sound. Of course, there's times where the tent is an asset, like when I'm parked next to a river, instead of an RV or road. Troy |
