I recently had this problem with my fox. To add to it, turn on high beams
and clock would also turn off. Found ground trace on foil itself had a
problem. Added a jumper on the foil, problem solved. Since you worked on the
foil I would suspect it. The traces can look good but be NG.

Ground to cluster ok. Connected low pressure oil switch wire directly to
frame, oil light still dim.
Thought the oil light has been working fine, maybe intermittent connections
at "L" board killed it?

I had simply connected a couple of connectors to the pins on "L"
board. This morning I soldered wires in place of pins, but oil light behaves
the same.
