Right after buying my Westy I found one for $700 locally and did not buy it.  My bride cast the deciding vote in that decision and, miraculously, we're still married.  Since then I've found a beater for $1500 and know of two others that might be available (both look like they need lots of work) and I'm planning to approach the owner of one as soon as I move into my new garage in April.  If is $3000 or less I'll buy it.
