When I was looking for my tin top I found that anything with even a 'hint' of Subaru was waaaay over priced in my opinion. Non-running Subie/vans were being listed at those same prices as that Syncro mentioned... I guess if someone paid to have the vangon engine swapped for a Subaru and it actually was sorted out and ran flawlessly, they might figure what they paid to get it done was the value of the vehicle...and they would be right for themselves...but I didn't care to pay that...then my inline came up at <$3k and has been serving me well now for 60k miles at least....

On another note...We saw some real 4x4s doing their thing at the Ocatillo Wells Highway Vehicle area Rendezvous this late winter....Un-be-leaveable! I didn't see any Syncros, though....There were man made obstacles that all the rock crawlers and jeeps and stuff were free to go at....Graded like ski runs...Black diamond. green circle, etc...Literally tens of thousands of people there for the weekend with their toys....amazing. Even saw groups of Spring Breakers with Mommy's Grand Cherokee trying some of the 'problems'....I bet mommy was pissed when she got her Jeep back with a dented up undercarriage
