It might help if you identify which hightop you are looking to remove and which poptop you are looking to install.

The easiest will probably a poptop designed to be added on to a tintop. The tougher ones will be the Westfalia poptop which requires flat ribs instead of the curved ones on the tintops. You could install it w/ less work if you only want the poptop for standing room. Adding the upper bunk is the most difficult part of the job.
