We sure have different experiences evidently. I have seen countless CV joints with barely much grease in them after a few years, especially the inner ones by the transaxle. I put in more than the whatever few ounces is specified ... of black moly graph grease . I have yet to have one problem with any CV joint or boot that I have installed.. andthat's dozens of them , years later even. I have sure never heard of venting them or found any indication at all that anything like that is needed. Maybe where you live, lol !

This early failure of new supposedly good CV joint boots .. is an example of why I don't necessarily think 'all new' is really always that good actually.

My style is to make the money go the furthest .. I keep good parts in service when it's the right thing to do. and naturally, with a thought that the goal and expectation is that things keep working reliablyfor a good long time. And 'all new' is not a guarantee at all for thatat all. Even introduces new issues sometimes. I like doing 'just the right thing' .. no more, no less. Careful work on good stuff isthough.

In my perception, the right coast is an entirely different world than the left coast. What is standard or works there is different than here, seems to me pretty often. fwiw.
