I think it is a terminal disease that we all have. No escape. The VW bus sure does have something that attracts all of us.

I too have another RV - a 1978 GMC Royale rear bath - kinda rare. Before I became a "stroke victim" I made lots of mods. No propane, all electric, rebuilt 455, new four barrel, headers, twin flow masters, laminate floor - blah blah blah - but going down hill with a tail wind I might get 5 mpg - which in retirement has become too rich for my blood.

Alas - Winston the Wheaton and I go sit in it once in a while, fire up the 455 for a few gallons and then go back to the Vanagon to figure out how to make into a simpler camper without spending an arm and a leg.

Slowly getting there but unless somebody wants to trade my nearly finished Vanilla Shake for a Westie - I have little chance.

Keep smiling - 82 here today and not acloud in the sky.
