Take a look at the connector between the fuel injection wiring harness and the electronic control unit. If the connections are dirty, you can get same or similar problems. Clean with top quality contact cleaner and make sure all contacts on both sides of the connection are squeaky clean. When I bought my '94 1.9 in 1997, I had similar problems until my mechanic at the time found dirt/corrosion on the contacts. In the morning with dew on the windshield, the van won't start--starter engages and the engine just grinds. I'm thinking there must be some kind of short or current drainage that is causing this. Later in the day, the van starts fine. I've checked the grounds and they look good, checked all the electric connections, swapped AFM's, changed the coil, fuel pump is new and connections seem solid. Temp II sensor is new and connection checks. Has anybody experienced any similar type problem or suggest troubleshooting?
