Hey Troy.

I stripped the parts to bare wood. A clean surface was needed. FWIW to all, this type of scraper: http://www.thepaintstore.com/v/vspfiles/photos/10610-2T.jpg worked great to remove almost all the OEM glue. The belt sander didn't hurt either.

Have stained a light colour, may stain it darker. Making use of what was on hand. But....

Hadn't thought of slippage. Humph. Oh well.
