The reason you still have it as a spare and the reason I had one for so long with my '81, is because in those old days before the glaciers receeded and when radials were new, the advice was to rotate front-back but never cross to change rotation direction. Either radials got better or advisors got smarter, or both, but now a 5-tire rotation will benefit you, after the expense of that 5th tire, by keeping you from ever having a 31-year-old spare again....

The air-cooled T3s are hard to keep going since parts are hard to come by, or impossible, but it's worth it. After all, they are the REAL T3s! :-)
