What would be the purpose of such scoops anyway ? The only purposes that comet to mind are engine air breathing ( the air it runs on ) or engine compartment air flow and cooling. Way back , sure, made some for a 56 Splitty Bus ....because all air that enters those intakes ends up in two places.. Carb intake , and that all goes out the tail pipe. And engine cooling ..and all that air is sealed and is forced to go through cooling fan and cylinder fins then out the bottom and rear of the van. So scoops there could help. a vanagon engine compartment is wide open more or less....the engine is liquid cooled ...plenty of engine compartment general venting. About the only signfiicant factor that comes to mind is, it's better to take the air the engine runs on from higher up on the side of the van, away from road dust. Which they do stock. With the millions of vanagons running without additional scoops just fine .. some even with 230 hpengines .....don't see the need.
