hello Frank the old gasket sets did have bad black sealant, the new ones seem to have right stuff in the victor rienz tube(even looks like right stuff) We havent had any trouble with the later sealant., Also on the head crush gaskets what we do is spray them with disc brake quite, this seals them and holds them in place when installing the heads. later mark d
