The power Pole offers instant disconnect for removal and safely breaks both sides. Even a 400 watt inverter needs a 40 amp circuit and thus switch. With the capacitive load contact welding is possible with a cheap switch so you really want a good snap action or a double break type. The disconnect takes care of all issues.

No fuse but Anderson or Power Pole easy to get.

You suggest these as a time saver, or is a switch a bad idea?

The inverter not only serves as an inverter but also serves as a wire junction (it has neg. pos. posts on it)
