Subject: New Vanagon Owner On His way Home!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8

The buyer of my BlueStar just left beautiful downtown Round Hill Virginia and is on his way home to N. Carolina. He had called around 3:30 this afternoon, he was on I-81 south of Winchester, VA. with a locked up alternator in his Land Rover! I figured  well, that's it, he won't be going home with the Vanagon this weekend! I was all prepared to put him up for the weekend, help him chase down parts, etc. But no, he called a couple hours later and was just 4 miles from my house!! He had found an alternator at AutoZone that fit, took about 45 minutes to swap it out, and was on his way again! Wow! If anyone can get this Vanagon back on the road, I'm sure he can (he has also converted his Land Rover from V8 gas engine to diesel) I was sorry to see the BlueStar go, it is the most beautiful Vanagon I have ever seen, but as you all know I bought my '85 Weekender back a couple of weeks ago, and I just don't have the time and $$ for a project now. The buyer, Steve, has owned Vangons before so he knows what he is getting in to!  I hope he has a safe (and mechanically uneventful) trip back home!
