On the early westies (ie, no valence on sliding door side) the front and rear of trough are attached to an end cap and wardrobe respectively (10 mm wrench size nut). The trough metal is attached along the outboard side to the van in a "french cleat" type fashion. The metal lip of trough sits into a corresponding slit on bent sheet metal ledger strip on van wall.
