I am another "victim" of the noisy replacement blower motor (now that I have bought my '85 back). FWIW, when mine started to squeal, I drilled the hole and lubed it. A week later it locked up! The old one is still on my workbench, after pulling it out and getting it well oiled it now runs just fine-and quiet!
