That seems to be the way of it. But I went to my bank a while back and they judged my "88 GL to be worth $5800. And it's not in that great a shape. Problem is - there's just not many buyers out there. It takes a special kind of person t want a Vanagon. For that reason, you can't get much for them in an actual sale.
