I didn't take it as insulting either! After all, how many of these wonderful vans have been bought by hippie wannabes and then weeks later they go up in flames because they had no clue about 20+ year old hard, brittle fuel lines that are leaking or are about ready to? Whoever steered this new owner to this list did them a huge favor! No, insulting is what happened to me many years ago on the type2 list when I asked a question about the rear brakes on my '75 Westy. I got a reply from a member stating that I was an idiot and shouldn't be doing brake work! Turns out he was the idiot, and unaware of changes that had taken place from VW. Then there was the a** chewing I got from Eric Zeno here on this list back around 2008, but I totally deserved that one!
