Related to this thread, and NOT my van.... A friend just had his van ('86 Westy) repainted the OE color (a metallic a gold color) and it turned out superb. Of note: the shop put a coating of plastic spray over all the usual vulnerable surfaces and it is almost imperceptible to the eye, but once you put a finger on it, you can tell it's there. So far has turned out to be a perfect chip-resistant addition. He had the lower, driver side splash panel cut out and replaced, got the new one from BD. That also turned out great. No rust on this van, anywhere now. We removed the cabinets for this, and he also had all of the rubber seals for windows and doors replaced with new. It sounds like a brand new vehicle....the doors are slightly difficult to close due to the new rubber seals.....very nice! Bob |
