IIRC, Jim Arnott posted about a FLAPS type shock as a possibly more affordable alternative. Maybe a search will reveal? What about our list vendors? A quick look at busdepot shows front and rears on sale for less than $50. I too will need shocks for my '88. I also see a bunch listed on rockauto.com but note that some are close out or other. Seems to me though that one may get what they pay for. I've enjoyed my Bilstein HD shocks. They still seem to be fine though I see you're likely looking for a less stiff shock. Neil.
