I apologize if I came off that way! I didn't mean to. But she can be on her way to buying an engine and a little knowledge is going to help her a lot. I have been this route with so many new owners. Vanagons are not the only vehicles that go bad due to drivers not knowing some basic stuff especially how the warning lights-other indicators work and determining if it is safe to continue or pull over now. Look at all those engine shops and companies out there. In my experience probably 3 out of 4 engine replacements for all cars could have been avoided. Getting towed off the road and finding you need thousands of $$$ never makes for a good day. She can do it! We can help!
