This is not a silly question- the steel and alloy wheel rim widths are different and the tire manufacturers specs are The What's What. 185/14 Continental Vanco and Yokohama tires specification charts indicate 5 to 6 inch rim width and the alloy wheels are wider than that, yes? My information was gleaned from www.tirerack.com and looked up by tire size, then specification for that particular tire. Geo/ATL
