Looking at 97.129 ('88-9) and 97.211 ('90+) you might have to change the switch connector and would definitely have to add a fuse downstream of the switch for the panel lights because the older switch gets the panel feed directly off the 58 circuit (parking lights) instead of through a separate fuse and switch terminal.

Otherwise electrically they're the same.
