Since it seems that I am not the only person here who's got a steel support rod popping out of the the lower mattress from time to time, let's have another go.

This one's a case of non-support. Has anyone ever had the front half of the top mattress fall off the lip that is supposed to hold it up?

I tried finagling the hinges & screws on the sides of the bus and the ones on the surface of the board, none of which had actually been designed to be adjusted. These "fixes" were short lived.

I ended up removing a plastic molding and tnhen screwing a furring strip onto the rear edge of the board so that it would make full contact across the horizontal supporting rail. Painted it grey and you can't hardly tell there's been workaround.

And now, no more worries about plunging into an active kitty litter box in the dead of night.
