I'm curious why the front trans mount was modified, not that that's not a good thing sometimes.

On my own 91 GL with tiico and 1.8 I4 block.. since it has an adapter plate, and a waterboxer trans is already mounted two inches further aft than it reallyneeds to be .....causing the engine to be too close to the rear of the engine compartment, to allow good room for a muffler and heat shield ... I'll be moving the whole thing forward 2 inches.. modifying front trans mnt, and brackets on the cradle bars.

Not sure why your front trans mnt is modified though.

I dostronly recommend pick up a pair of diesel vanagon cradle bars.. I know there's a lot of welding that went into the bar under your engine .. but .....the stock-based system is much better. 83 DV bars and mounts are the good ones.

Sometimes the brackets need to be moved on the bars ...not a big deal.
