First, you see the problems posted but little of the cumulative millions of
miles driven by members of this list.
Second, I'm well over 100,000 miles driven in two Vanagon Westfalias and
NEVER been left at the side of the road.  Problems along the way?  Yeah,
but all minor and fixable and none stranded me.
So, routine maintenance by you or a mechanic that knows Vanagons plus just
common sense will keep you going.
And remember, it's the journey, not the destination.  Travel and enjoy.
And oh yeah, dismiss the nay sayers that will respond to your post, there's
at least one in every crowd.​
