That is a good point and it is a factor. He is weighing that as well. I told him if he decides to part it I'd gladly give him a hand.

The fact that it's a Vanagon may not be a factor to some - others (myself included) if at all possible would rather see them restored and back on the road. My friend is feeling that way a bit too - just not sure if this one is worth saving.

He did say if he could get say $900 for it he'd sell it whole in a heart beat - we are not convinced he could get that in it's current condition. It runs but would required some deal of mechanical work to make it drivable - and that doesn't even take into consideration the rust issue. Thanks,
