This is hair splitting, but given that it's sat a lot unused, would this affect the value of some of the parts? i.e. 1.9 with an oil leak and (I assume) old coolant, "new brakes" that haven't been used much, etc. OTOH, this might affect the value of the van if sold as-is so maybe it's all relative.

And how much is the owners time worth?

I understand the hesitation. The '85 I parted was a Transporter "panel" so I got at least one polite "why'd ya part it?" comment. But the advanced structural and other rust along with mechanical work required, really made it a border line case in terms of a resto project.

I'm still getting good use out of quite a few parts from my '85.
