Hi Jeff,

Steel Rims.

Chrome hubcaps with the “VW” logo pressed into them.

The hubcaps fit pretty snug onto the rims. I don’t believe there’s any hidden tension or anything which could be making the noise.

And there’s definitely nothing loose in there –they’re been on and off a few times.

However happy for any suggestions – do you have any more info?

Just out of curiosity, what type of wheels/wheel covers do you have? I have heard wheel covers make that same type of sound, even chrome trim rings. You may not have a problem at all.
