thanks Alistair. I was going on what I was told by a Vanagon mechanic. Either I misunderstood him or he was "selling" his services. I think it was the latter. If I understood him correctly, he mentioned this cam as an option on a rebuild. It sounded a little bogus at the time but I know less than he does so.... Neil.
