It wouldn't have to be bronze, but it would be difficult without a lathe, I think. Might find a pin of the right diameter, epoxy it in and epoxy the cut-off piece over it if you couldn't find a sleeve the right size. And use grease when assembling of course, which the original assemblers did not do.
