Last summer's severe drought in the midwest wasa big factor in numerous ethanol plants closing down. Not enough corn grown, or they had to haul it too far to make ethanol production effiecent enough.

As nasty as the stuff is, fossilfuel is hard to beat in many ways.. ( energy content, etc ) of course, that technology has been continuously developed about a centuryat least. And there's no dependence on climate to grow it, not that I am hugely in favor of fossil juice.

Gonna be all electricpretty soon. Just graft a Vanagon body onto a powerful hybrid or full on EV - that would do it.

btw...it being Almost Friday .. VW is coming out with a car that will do 314 mpg. Read about it in the current UK Edition of Top Gear Magazine. I better stop before I get in trouble . lol.
